Gail Claes Studio

The Artist --

“As an artist I find great pleasure in capturing a moment in time. I'm constantly observing everything around me. It is when we are connecting with nature that we awaken our senses and our hearts become lighter, and our soul is nourished..”

Gail is a native New Englander, and currently resides in York Maine. Although most of her work is finished in her studio, she enjoys painting on location and focusing on landscapes of the New England coast whenever possible. Her travels throughout England and Scotland have also inspired many paintings.

Gail has studied at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and the South Shore Art Center in Cohasset, MA. She has also studied with several well-known artists, in oils, pastels, and watercolors ranging from portraits, still life, figures, and landscapes. Some of the well-known artist that she has studied with, are Michael Keane, Clement Micarelli and Constance Pratt.

Gail has been active in several Art Associations. Currently Gail's paintings are in the Gail Claes Studio in York, ME,  York Art Association and the  Birdsey Gallery in Osterville, MA .
